Felted Hoods To Hats with Mieke den Otter

Bridget Bunchy

We are very excited to be hosting a number of workshops this winter by the talented textile artisan - Mieke den Otter.

Mieke is an experienced textile artist who lives in Ipswich but loves to visit the Granite Belt for inspiration and fresh air. She will guide you in the making, share techniques and open up the world of traditional and contemporary textiles.

To find out more about the work, collections and projects Mieke has been involved in over the years - check out her blog.

In this workshop you will discover the subtle making of shaped hats from raw wool and prepared batts. The process will cover sample making, making a pattern, layout of wool, wetting, rolling and fulling to a final shape on a block.
